Youth Campaign Coach - Northern Ireland
This vacancy has now expired, and is not accepting any new applications. p>
Over the past 5 years, Friends of the Earth has run a successful environmental leadership programme with young people in England and Wales. The programme, My World My Home, uses community organising methodology to support young people to develop and deliver their own environmental justice campaigns as a team within their Further Education college.
We are now looking for a new member of the team for a 12 month fixed term contract to bring a version of this programme to Northern Ireland.
To deliver Friends of the Earth’s Further Education inclusion programmes with young people. This includes responsibility for project delivery in colleges across Northern Ireland.
To lead recruitment and induction of small teams of young people followed by training, coaching and resources to help them to implement environmental campaigns in their colleges and communities.
Projects may vary but the focus will be on supporting 16–24-year-olds within Further Education settings to learn about environmental justice and become skilled campaigners. Work will include follow up support for alumni of the programme to continue their campaigning journey.
Closing Date: 27 October 2021
