Job Description

This role is for 35 hours per week (full-time)

The role: 

The Governance and Performance Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative, logistical and coordination support to a range of colleagues, including the Boards and Senior Leadership Team, to help enable effective governance and leadership of Friends of the Earth, as well as high performance across the organisation.

You’ll support cross-organisational and departmental meetings, away days, diary management, reporting, record keeping, administrative tools and other systems and work closely with the rest of the Governance Team and the Project Management Team.

Key Skills and Attributes: 

You will be forward thinking and able to prioritise a varied workload in a fast-moving environment. You will have excellent organisational, administrative and time management skills with a focus on quality, detail and outcomes. You will possess proficient IT and written skills and an ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people, including the most senior levels of the organisation.

The team: 

The Governance Team supports Friends of the Earth’s Boards and Senior Leadership Team to effectively govern and lead the organisation in its mission to bring about environmental justice.

Working across all directorates, the team aims to provide senior colleagues with efficient and proactive support, helping to ensure that our decision-making machinery is working well, that we plan effectively, and that we strengthen a culture of accountability and delivery.
