Job Description

This role is for 35 hours per week (full-time)

The role: 

The Executive Assistant will be responsible for providing high level executive support to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) as a whole and individual Directors, enabling effective leadership of Friends of the Earth.

You’ll also be responsible for coordinating various cross-organisational meetings, projects and events and supporting staff engagement. From forward planning to minute taking, from away days to diary management, you’ll help optimise the functioning of the most senior levels of the organisation and enable colleagues to work effectively with SLT.  

Key Skills and Attributes: 

You will take initiative and prioritise effectively, including on behalf of others, in line with organisational strategy and in a fast-moving environment. You will have exceptional organisational and planning skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people, including the most senior levels of the organisation. You will have experience in providing executive management support and in project and/or event coordination. You will have strong professionalism, including integrity, diplomacy and discretion.

The team: 

The Governance Team supports Friends of the Earth’s Boards and Senior Leadership Team to effectively govern and lead the organisation in its mission to bring about environmental justice. Working across all directorates, the team aims to provide senior colleagues with efficient and proactive support, helping to ensure that our decision-making machinery is working well, that we plan effectively, and that we strengthen a culture of accountability and delivery.
