Job Description

Can you help us protect people and planet? Please come join Friends of the Earth’s fundraising team and help us achieve our ambitions!

We have seen steady growth in donations from major donors over the last five years and are continuing to invest and develop our Philanthropy programme to significantly increase our income over the next 5 years. You can help us with this.

We are recruiting for a Senior Philanthropy Officer on a fixed term maternity cover, 30 hours per week and would love for you to join our fantastic team.

What You’ll Be Doing…

You will manage a portfolio of current and prospective donors, focusing on cultivation, stewardship, and uplift strategies to reach annual income targets, as well as the qualification of new prospects.  In addition, you will line manage a Philanthropy Officer who is responsible for the management of their own portfolio of current and prospective major donors.

You’ll be working as part of the Philanthropy team within our established Major Partnerships team, which manages nearly £6 million of relationships with major donors, trusts, and corporates. We have recently introduced a new prospect research function to work closely with the team alongside our Events and Stewardship Officer.

Who we are looking for…

We‘re looking for someone who is creative, thoughtful and understands major donors’ motivations to give. You’ll be skilled in written and email communications and be very comfortable in meetings, events and giving presentations to donors. You’ll also love working collaboratively across the organisation to develop compelling asks for donors.
